The annual pd course held in Shanghai

The annual pd training course was held on Sep25-27, 2008 by SSDC (Shanghai Stomatology Disease Center) with about 40 attendants. It is a nationally certified CE course for dentists in China. Dr. Beach visited Shanghai for 5 days, gave a lecture on the GEPEC website (http://www.systematiccare.net) and demonstrated use of pd instruments in the course, while eleven GEPEC members outside China gave presentations via Skype on Sept 26 including Dr. Michael Dougherty (USA), Dr. Sunsanee Rajchgool (Thailand), Dr. Masashi Ishida (Japan), Dr. Jacques Verre (India), Dr. Siriwan Suebnukarn (Thailand), Dr. Heikki Tala (Finland) and Dr. Pierre Laplaud (France). Dr. Kim Il Bong (korea), who happened to be in Shanghai also attended the course and gave a talk in the course on Sept. 26. Dr. Wolf Neddermeyer (Germany) could not participate in the course due to time difference, but Mr. Yuan Li presented his slides on his behalf. This was the first attempt of on-line presentations via three skypes. The attendants were pleased to see that GEPEC members from so many countries shared the same interest in pd dentistry and are promoting pd. SSDC will try to organize the next pd training course with even better contents.
